Happy Easter!

We're pretty sure the Easter Bunny will be able to find you this year!

Really though, we remember what the Savior means to us in this beautiful Easter Season.

Love to all,

Weekend with Mike, Lea, and Mazy

It was Martin Luther King holiday, so I was able to spend a nice weekend in St. Louis and drive home on Monday. Mazy is growing, learning to crawl, and eating real food!

Mazy and Grandma in Mazy's room, decorated with butterflies.
She is wearing her new pj's.

Mazy is getting interested in "real food" now. She really
wanted a bite of Lea's pear!

Perched atop her "car" Mazy gets a push around
the living room.

I have this really cute video clip of Mazy starting to
crawl, but I can't get it to load! I've been having this
problem for months and can't figure out what I might
be doing wrong! Any suggestions?

Happy 90th Birthday Dad McEwan! January 8

A tribute in words and pictures to Jack Berry McEwan
for his 90th birthday

Even at age 2 and 1/2, Rob liked airplanes, just like Dad.
Dad served as a B-17 pilot in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

several other times over the years, with Michael and Brian,
compliments of Dad.

Even at age 8, Michael loved and admired his Grandpa.
He is showing him his winning collage entitled "My Grandpa",
which included a picture of Grandpa, the temple,
and Pres. Ezra Taft Benson

Dad served in many callings in the church including bishopric
counselor, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, Regional
Representative, Patriarch, counselor in the Los Angeles Temple
presidency, and president of the Los Angeles temple. In this
photo he is speaking at an area conference in CA. in the Rose Bowl.

"My Three Sons": always a source of pride
"We have no greater joy than to hear that our children walk in truth"
3 John 1-4

Dad has played an influential role in our lives as Pariarch of the McEwan family! He has been there for all the important occasions and is responsible for a lot of wonderful memories. He has likewise supported our children by attending blessings, baptisms, giving them their Patriarchal Blessings, attending their mission farewells and returns, and has sealed them to their spouses in the Nauvoo and Mesa Temples. His support is never-ending!

And who has been his constant companion for so many years? Betty Jean Clark McEwan!
We can hardly think of one without the other!

How can a few words and photos do justice to all the years of love and support that he has given us? The real tribute will be how we continue to live our lives as good fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, grand children and great-grandchildren, following his great example of love of family and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

WE LOVE YOU, DAD :)

Christmas in Henderson

Mike & Lea drove up from St. Louis the day before Christmas. We relaxed that evening, ate salami, crackers, and cheese. We took a picture while everything was still untouched.

It was definitely a white Christmas here in Illinois! Mike & Lea bundled Mazy up and took her outside to introduce her to snow:)

Christmas Day we slept in a bit, then opened presents. Mazy had a lot of fun just with the wrapping paper! She loved all her presents. Baby toys are so entertaining these days! Mazy got a ball that talks, lights up, and moves itself; also a talking telephone:) Mazy is so cute- she rolls anywhere she wants to be! My videos aren't loading tonight - I'll have to try tomorrow.

Mazy with the cute boa headband made by Lea! She is holding the bear from Great Grandmother and Great Grandpa McEwan.

Santa was good to everyone - now I just have to put everything together!

Thanksgiving in Henderson

We had our Thanksgiving feast with Michael, Lea, and Mazy Thursday afternoon. My favorite is always the yams and apples casserole and Lea's rolls from her Aunt Gabby's recipe! I tried the rolls' recipe Saturday and they were yummy again. Now it's Sunday and we are still enjoying all the leftovers.
Rob and I were crazy and got up for the 5 and 6 am specials on Black Friday. Let's just say we scored on a few big items, so it was worth the lost sleep :) Michael, Lea, Mazy, and I went shopping later and found much of what we were looking for.

This will be Mazy's Christmas dress!

Mazy sitting on Grandma's lap and talking about all kinds
of things:) Hmmm.. you can't see the spot where the first
tooth is ready to break through!

Hope everyone out there had a great Thanksgiving. We are so grateful for our many blessings!

Halloween 2009

Wow, St. Louis weather was really enjoyable for Halloween weekend - mild and sunny. Mike and Lea planned a party and these were their living room decorations. Lea made bats, I blew up balloons, and Michael draped the crepe paper. On the top shelf where you see little orange twinkle lights were Grandpa McEwan's dental school skulls he gave to Michael to study anatomy. They were a big hit, especially with the orthodontic students who came!

Mazy loved putting her mouth on the balloons and babbling!

Lea made Mazy's spider costume.

Mazy was the spider and Mike and Lea were the web!

Tuckered out :)

We all enjoyed Lea's soup, home-made rolls, and "brain" cupcakes! Yummmm!
